Asian markets are mixed this morning, with the standout mover being the Nikkei up around 2% as the Yen made fresh multi year lows. Elsewhere, South Korea's Kospi reversed minor gains after signs that North Korea may have tested nuclear missiles.
In Europe, equity futures are pointing to a loss of around 30 bps. There is some market talk that G7 leaders will make an announcement ahead of the G20 summit in Moscow later this week, in an effort to calm fears over the threat of a global currency war. Today we have UK CPI, RPI and PPI. Barclays have reported their quarterly earnings.
In the US, markets last night were modestly lower, and futures are around 25 bps lower again this morning ahead of NFIB small business optimism data and results Coca Cola (44c), McGraw Hill (71c) and Goodyear (20c).
